Day of Giving 2021

We’re delighted to bring back this wonderful Holidays tradition! On December 18, you can once again finish your last-minute Holidays shopping and pay it forward at the same time. Dozens of local retailers will be donating part of the day’s proceeds to United Midcoast Charities, which provides much-needed funding to more than 50 agencies in Knox and Waldo counties.

Although the Midcoast has returned to some semblance of normalcy in recent months, many of our friends and neighbors still face enormous challenges. Day Of Giving is a great way for all of us to support area businesses and also help address the most basic needs of food, housing, health and safety, and economic security here in the Midcoast.

Sierra Dietz of The Grasshopper Shops in Rockland and Belfast adds, “Since 1975, our family business has taken pride in supporting the local community.  UMC is a valuable resource for nonprofits in Midcoast Maine, assisting the most vulnerable and contributing to a healthy society. The Grasshopper Shop is delighted to do our part to support UMC during these difficult times.”

A current list of all participating businesses is below. When you shop or dine, please let them know how much you appreciate their support for UMC and the Midcoast community.
