UMC Promotes Kelly Carey to Program Coordinator
United Midcoast Charities, a community-supported nonprofit dedicated to grantmaking and capacity building for local nonprofits, has promoted Kelly Carey of Brooks into a new full-time program coordinator role.
Kelly joined UMC as administrative coordinator in February 2017. She earned a certificate in volunteer management from the Maine Commission for Community Service in 2018 and is a certified expert and trainer for Foundation Center Online.
As program coordinator, Kelly will oversee UMC’s grantmaking process and learning programs. Her goal will be to improve the ability of nonprofit organizations to serve Midcoast residents in the areas of food, housing, health and safety, and economic security.
“This new position reflects Kelly’s strategic support of UMC’s work to address basic needs in Knox and Waldo counties by financially supporting and guiding the efforts of nonprofit agencies,” said Megan Williams, executive director of United Midcoast Charities. “We’re pleased to have her take on this role as we build out our unique programs to best serve local nonprofits and the Midcoast community.”
