Join a group of dedicated major donors who believe in active community philanthropy and have made a commitment to give at least $10,000 to UMC every year.

I have long believed that we all have a responsibility, philanthropically, to those in our community in greater need., When Judy and I moved to Rockland, we quickly discovered that there was no other organization as uniquely positioned as United Midcoast Charities to help address the needs of the nonprofits through grants in our area., UMC’s grants support the operations of so many local organizations throughout the year. We hope that friends of UMC join us in supporting this important mission to help the many wonderful nonprofits in our community.

Creating a charitable trust or gift annuity enables you to provide lifetime income for yourself and/or others.

Give up to $100,000 to charity directly from your individual retirement account (IRA) when you are over age 70 ½ without counting the distribution as taxable income. Always consult your tax preparer or CPA.

Include UMC in your will or living trust by bequeathing a fixed amount, a specific asset, or a percentage of your estate so your annual giving lives on in perpetuity.

Consider including UMC as a beneficiary of your new or existing life insurance policy or retirement plan (IRA, Roth IRA, 401k).

Through planned giving, you can leave a lasting legacy while providing your family and heirs with estate and financial savings.

You can also give in memory of a loved one as a meaningful way to celebrate their life. Many individuals find this more meaningful than flowers at the end of their loved one’s life.
