United Midcoast Charities Day of Giving is held every year in December.
Last year, nearly 80 businesses in Belfast, Camden, Rockland, Rockport and Thomaston agreed to either send in a straight donation or a percentage of their proceeds from shoppers on December 9th.
In exchange, UMC provided marketing support to include:
- Multi-week print and online advertising
- Weekly Chamber of Commerce newsletters (Belfast & PenBay Regional)
- Pre-event postcards mailed to c.7,000 residents
- Pre-event POP/window posters listing participating businesses
- Pre-event and post-event publicity including press releases, a listing on the UMC website and multiple social media posts
