1/3 of American households struggle to afford food, shelter or medical care
I admit, being in the nonprofit world, we often witness the recurring issues that are present in our communities but I recently came across this article which emphasized to me just how prevalent it is across America to struggle to meet basic needs.
A full 33% (of those who answered this survey) of American households cannot afford either (sometimes all) food, housing or medical care. Does this shock you? I took the survey and I landed only 1% point above the median score. How well do you score on these financial stability measures?
